Youth Chamber Music

Youth Chamber Music (Classical & Pop/Jazz)
Ages 8+ (1.5-2 years of Private Lessons)
Audition Required​​​​​

We welcome anyone looking to enjoy the experience of Chamber Music at Attacca! Chamber Music is some of the richest and most beautiful in the repertoire and one of the most enjoyable ways to share music with others and make new friends in a small group setting! Students will build the tools needed to work as a unit - listening, cueing, communicating - as well as strengthen the skills needed for solo playing - rhythm, timing, pulse, etc. Coaches will help them to harmonize together to bring their pieces to life!

Program Overview: â€‹

  • Late beginner through advanced levels welcome to apply

    • Grades 2-12 should apply here for Youth Chamber Music​

    • Ages 21+ should apply for Adult Chamber Music

  • Classical or Contemporary/Pop/Jazz Track

  • Groups of 2-5 Students

  • All Instruments Welcome

  • Final concert for all groups at the each of each session 

  • Rehearsals are 60 or 90 minutes in length depending on age and difficulty of repertoire:

    • 60 Minutes = 60 Minute Coaching (coaches are present for entire rehearsal)​

    • 90 Minutes =  60 Minute Coaching + 30 Minute Student Led Group Practice Time

Cost: 

  • 60 Minutes - $450 per 10 week session

  • 90 Minute - $495 per 10 week session

  • 10% discount given to students already enrolled in private lessons at Attacca​​​​

General Participation Requirements:

  • Student has had 1.5-2 years of private lessons

  • Student is able to read music fluently

  • Student must be actively taking private lessons (in or outside of Attacca) on their performing instrument while participating in our program (this program is not meant to be a replacement for private instrument study)

Audition Recording for Placement:​

In order to be properly placed in a group, anyone new to the program will be asked to submit a recording on the registration form. These recordings are reviewed to help us create well-matched ensembles based on playing level, experience, instrumentation, and musical interests so that every student can have a positive experience.  If we are unable to form an appropriate group, this is not a reflection of a student’s ability, but simply means that a suitable match was not available that session.

Audition Requirements

  • Two contrasting pieces (one slow and one fast) or one piece with two contrasting movements. 

  • Two scales of choice

Ages 8+ (1.5-2 years of private lessons)

Length: 60 or 90 minute classes

Fall 2026 Session: 9/26/2026-12/5/2026

Schedule: Saturdays 3-8pm
