Teaching Philosophy

I aspire to create a welcoming yet structured environment for my students, fostering within them an equal measure of self-discipline and love of learning. Promoting organic and integral musicianship has to always be the main focus of each lesson, taking precedent over technical, non-musical exercises or

activities. I draw from Suzuki method, with intensive and extensive listening, as well as utilizing Dalcroze to incorporate music into the body. By singing back and forth with the student. I use improvisation to solidify the basic foundations of rhythm and pitch. These methods create the balance between hard work and joy that cultivates a profound, life-long love of music.
