Liubomyr Senyshyn

Strings Department Chair and Faculty Member

Originally from  Ukraine, Liubomyr Senyshyn is a Boston based violinist. Prior to his career in the United States, Liubomyr was a three year member of the K&K Philharmoniker, an Austrian-Ukrainian orchestra that tours throughout Europe. With K&K, he played over 120 concerts per year in the greatest concert halls in Europe: Berliner Philharmonic, Wiener Musikverein and Oslo Opera House. Currently in the states, he performs regularly with Cape Ann Symphony, Boston Chamber Symphony Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and Symphony Pro Musica.

 

In addition to his work as a successful orchestral player, Senyshyn is an active chamber musician. For three years he was a member of KLMB String Quartet in Lviv, Ukraine. He is also a founding member and player for both the Glenside Quartet in Boston, MA, and the Temper Trio in Cambridge, MA.

Tanya Zhmendak

Classical, Jazz and Improvisational Violin

Tetiana Zhmendak was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she started her violin studying at the age of seven. During years of learning and growing as a professional musician, she took part in All-Ukrainian competitions as well as international, such as International Competition Gianluca Campochiaro (Italy), and succeeded. Her professional experience also includes participation in Youth International Philarmonic Orchestra (USA), MIT Concert Choir Orchestra (USA), and the DuBois Orchestra (USA).

Through years of changing schools, both musical and educational, she ended up graduating from Specialized Secondary Music boarding school named after M.V. Lysenko, in a class of Tamara Mukhina. In 2019 she moved to Boston to pursue her dream of becoming a professional violinist and pedagogue. There she completed her Undergraduate Diploma in Violin Performance at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, developing her musical skills with the associate concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Alexander Velinzon.

She is currently pursuing her Masters in Violin Performance at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA under the instruction of Alexander Velinzon.
